This didn’t stop at the blow-up — Portelli’s penthouse fight has now turned legal

What started as a messy penthouse drama blown up on YouTube has now crossed a line. This is no longer just about defects on a luxury build… it has moved into legal territory, with authorities now stepping in.

What started with defects on site has now spilled well beyond it.

It all kicked off inside that penthouse. A high end Melbourne apartment worth tens of millions, where a filmed inspection for the Site Inspections channel started exposing issues that simply should not exist at that level.

Water leaks, poor finishes, basic details failing in a build that cost serious money… that is where things started to unravel.

In the video, Adrian Portelli alleges builder Michael Strom threatened him directly when he began questioning the work, dropping the line “I’ll jump on a plane and punch your f*cking teeth out.”

The clip went viral months ago and has been doing the rounds ever since. Now it has taken a step further, with reports indicating police have applied an Apprehended Violence Order in the middle of the dispute.

This is no longer staying on site.

From dodgy defects to police stepping in

What began as a blow up over a rough job has turned into something a lot heavier.

An AVO means this is no longer just two blokes arguing over a build. It is now a formal process, with authorities involved over alleged threats, and that shifts the whole situation.

A project that was already under pressure

The penthouse itself was already loaded with issues. Delays pushing past a year, inspections pointing toward potential rework, and a relationship between Portelli and the builder that had clearly gone south.

On top of that, there were already legal disputes over major contracts between the two, so this did not come out of nowhere.

Now it sits in a different place. An AVO on the table, legal pressure building, and Portelli back in court… this time pushing things further.
