Tradie Charged After Allegedly Running Down Workmate at Nar Nar Goon Site

A Melbourne tradie is now facing serious charges after a wild incident on a Nar Nar Goon worksite left a co worker badly injured. What should have been just another day on site turned into something far heavier, with footage appearing to show a ute driven straight toward another worker.

Footage appears to show a ute driven toward a worker in an incident now before the courts.

This was not treated as a routine site incident. Police allege the vehicle was deliberately driven at the worker, and that is why the case is now being handled as a serious criminal matter.

The incident happened on February 11 at a construction site in Nar Nar Goon, east of Melbourne. A 35 year old bricklayer has been charged after allegedly striking a 31 year old co worker with a ute on site.

From what has been reported so far, the two workers were known to each other. Authorities are still working through what led up to the incident.

When things go too far on site

Footage linked to the incident appears to show the ute moving directly toward the worker before impact. It is the kind of moment that instantly shifts things from a site issue into something much more serious. Police allege the act was intentional, though that will ultimately be tested in court.

The injured worker suffered serious internal injuries, with others on site stepping in immediately after the incident.

Footage shows the moment… police allege it was deliberate.

Now it is in the courts

The man has been charged with offences including intentionally causing serious injury and dangerous driving causing serious injury. He remains in custody and is expected to face court in the coming weeks, with investigators continuing to review evidence, including footage from the site.

From that point on, this stopped being just another incident on site. What actually happened, and why, will now be decided in court.
